On Wednesday, 18 November at 4.00 pm, Msgr. Joseph Kalathiparambil, Archbishop of Verapoly, ordained Sebastian Sooraj Thachappilly OSJ as deacon during the liturgical ceremony held in the chapel of the Archbishop’s House in Kerala,India.
Due to the pandemic situation created by the corona-virus, only Fr. Sebastian Jacobi OSJ, the Provincial Superior, two other confreres, Dn. Sooraj’s parents and his brother could participate in the ordination ceremony.
The gift of the diaconate is certainly a gift that cannot stop with those who receive it. Service and the proclamation of the Word are the two fundamental elements in the life of a deacon.
